slow-cooker-mashed-potatoes-american-homemade-recipe

This recipe offers several nutritional benefits, particularly through the use of potatoes as a primary ingredient. Potatoes are a great source of complex carbohydrates, providing steady energy to keep you going throughout the day. They also contain essential vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin C for a healthy immune system and potassium, which supports heart health and muscle function. Adding cream cheese and sour cream provides a boost of calcium for strong bones and some protein. To make this even healthier, you can use low-fat versions of the dairy products or serve it alongside colorful vegetables for a well-balanced, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 6 cups warm mashed potatoes (without added milk and butter)

  • Instructions

    1. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, butter, salad dressing mix and parsley; stir in potatoes.
    2. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker.
    3. Cover and cook on low for 2-4 hours.

Note: This recipe was tested with fresh potatoes (not instant) in a slow cooker with heating elements surrounding the unit, not only in the base.
