There were three friends in a village: David, Sara and John. They often played in the forest near the village. The green trees, chirping birds and cool air made everyone happy.
As time passed, David grew up and started a business selling firewood. He thought, “If I cut more trees, I will get more money.” John, greedy for wealth, joined him. Both began cutting many trees every day.
Sara stopped them and said, “Trees are not just firewood. They give us clean air, bring rain and provide shade. If we cut down all the trees, our village will suffer.” But David and John laughed it off.
After a few years the forest was gone. The birds flew away, springs dried up and the village grew hot. Children fell ill and crops dried in the fields. David finally understood his mistake and said, “We ruined everything in greed.” John said sadly, “I wish we had listened to Sara!”
Sara replied softly, “There is still time. If we all plant new trees together, maybe the coming days will be better.” The villagers united: they sowed seeds, planted saplings and protected them.
Gradually the forest returned. Birds came back, springs flowed again and the village air cooled. The people learned to care for the land and protect the trees for future children.
Moral: “Trees are our life. If we do not care for them, our land will not prosper.”
