A little ant had built her home in the trunk of a tree on the bank of a river in the forest. She was very hardworking and intelligent. She would spend the whole day collecting food. She had collected many seeds and grains in her home, so that she would not have any trouble finding food during the rainy season.
One summer afternoon, the ant felt thirsty and went to the bank of the river. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind came and the ant fell into the river. The water was very fast and deep, it started flowing. A dove was sitting on a tree on the bank of the river and was watching the ant flowing. She broke a leaf from the tree and flew to the water in the river near the ant. The ant had seen the dove throwing the leaf and immediately sat on that leaf. The leaf floated in the water and landed on the bank of the river, and the ant came to land.
After coming out of the river, she thanked the pigeon. After that, the two became friends. Time passed. One day, there was a very heavy rainstorm, in such a situation, the pigeon could not go anywhere to find food, and sat quietly in its nest. After spending the whole day on the tree, the pigeon felt very hungry. When evening came and the rain stopped, it started looking for food on the ground but did not find anything. In the meantime, the ant came out of its house to get the news of the pigeon, and she found it right in front of her.
“What is the matter, you look very worried,” the ant asked.
The pigeon said: “Today, I could not go anywhere because of the rain, I did not find anything to eat, I am very hungry. It seems that I will have to sleep hungry today.”
The ant said to the pigeon: “Don’t worry, I have stored a lot of grain in my house, I will bring it to you.” She quickly went and brought grain from the house and gave it to the pigeon.
The pigeon ate the grain to its full and thanked the ant.
The ant said to the pigeon: “No need to thank me, you saved my life, it was also my duty to help you in difficult times. I work hard all day to collect grain, so that it can be used in the rainy season. You also help me in collecting grain, we will share and eat together.” From then on the pigeon would help gather grain and the ant would share it, and whenever the rainy season came they ate together.
Lesson: We should always help one another, share what we have, and stand together in times of need.
