- In a large bowl, add the yeast and sugar, then pour in 3–4 tablespoons of lukewarm water. Let it sit for a few minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the salt and baking powder with the flour and set it aside.
- After 3–4 minutes, add the egg, milk, 2–3 tablespoons of cooking oil, and 1 cup of flour to the yeast mixture. Beat it well using an electric beater.
- Add the remaining cup of flour and beat again until a smooth batter forms. Cover the bowl and refrigerate it for a while.
- Once the dough has cooled, remove it from the refrigerator and bring it to room temperature.
- Knead the dough again, then place it on a tray and cut it into two-inch square pieces.
- Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the donuts until they turn golden brown.
- Arrange the donuts on a serving tray and sprinkle powdered sugar on top, or drizzle with jam or chocolate syrup.
